Leonard "Budd" Risseeuw Jr. -- February 1, 1933 -- June 7, 2009

Hull - Iowa - Leonard "Bud" Risseeuw, age 76, of Lester, Iowa, died unexpedtedly Sunday at his residence. Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 12 at First Reformed Church in Doon with Rev. Donald Baker, officiating.

Burial was held at 9:00 a.m. Friday June 12 at Hillside Cemetery at Lester, Iowa.

Leonard "Bud" Risseeuw was born Feb 1, 1933 at Lakeview, South Dakota, the son of Leonard and Pauline (Leusink) Risseeuw. Bud grew up near Hull, Iowa and attended Hull Community Schjool where he graduated in 1952. Bud was untied in marriage to Norma De Jongh on 7 April 1953. He farmed at Cliinton, Wisconsin until 1972, and then moved to his farm near Lester.

On Sept 29, 1974, Bud's wife Norma died, thus ending their marriage of 21 years. Bud had several pastimes such as: fishing, baseball, music, singing and farming. Bud was known by many for his gospel singing at many area events and churches. He was a mumber of the Bethel Reformed Church of Lester, was a part of the Senior Saints singing group of Northwest Iowa.

He is survived by his children: Lary Risseeuw of Larchwood; Vicki Sueverkruebbe of Sioux Falls, SD; and Laurel Rokowski of Tucson, AZ; four granchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings, Ethel Wolfswinkel Gruys of Edgerton, MN; Clarretta DeGroot of Doon, and Bertha Kruizenga of Delavan, WI. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents,his wife Norma, an infant sister, Bertha, a brother-in-law, Ceaver Wolfswinel; Kenneth DeGroot and Glen Kruizenga.
