Harriet was born May 24, 1928 to John and Bertha (Stubbe) Schneiderman at home in George, Iowa. At a young age, Harriet put her trust in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, and continued to show God's love by her daily example to others. She loved singing and listening to gospel songs and hymns.

She attended country school through the eighth grade and later received her high school diploma. After that, she also took classes at Worthington Community College. Harriet married Aron James Rust, June 22, 1951, and made their home in Worthington, Minnesota for sixty years.

Harriet enjoyed working with others as evidenced by the jobs she chose as a carhop for A&W, waitress, cashier, and personnel manager for F.W. Woolworth Company. She loved volunteering for the Red Cross, Mobile Meals, 4-H, Circle-C, Christian Women's, Project Club, and the Red Hat Society, along with hosting and leading Bible studies, teaching Sunday School, and singing in the church choir, helping with VBS, and working in the church kitchen.

Harriet loved her family and showed it by the time she spent with them playing games, going out for morning coffee, planning shopping trips, hosting family get-togethers, and praying for them each day.

Harriet is survived by her husband of 60 years, Aron Rust; daughter Barbara (Dean) Johnson; daughter Cherlyn (Milton) Bos; son Kevin (Karen) Rust; grandchildren: Abram and Jerusha Bos; Megan and Drew Johnson; Courtney and Connor Rust; great-grandchild: Stephanie Bos; brothers Harlan (Ferne) Schneiderman; Kenneth (Judv) Schneiderman; Burdell (Janice) Schneidermann.
