Thomas Huls – May 2, 1909 – October 4, 1961

Services for Thomas Huls are held Saturday

Funeral services for Thomas Huls, who died suddenly at his farm home near Alvord early Wednesday morning, were held Saturday afternoon at the Lockwood-Jongewaard Funeral chapel followed by a service in the Immanuel Lutheran church.

The Rev. S. J. Meyer officiated with Mrs. Richard Eder at the organ. Dalbert Newborg sang two selections, "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus."

Interment was in Riverview cemetery with Lockwood-Jongewaard Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Bearers were Ed Bramstedt, Nick Klutman, Art Anderson, Frank Dell, Harry Newborg and John Newborg.

Thomas Huls was born May 2, 1909 at Marshall, Okla., the son of Lendert and Heska Huls and had lived in Lyon County since 1944. His marriage to Alice Eihausen took place Dec. 20, 1941 and they were the parents of two children, Arlyne and Joan. Mrs. Huls lost her life in an automobile accident in 1953.

Surviving are the children; a brother, Ed Huls of Crescent, Okla., and five sisters: Meta, Mrs. John Heidebrink, Rushmore, Minn.; Olga, Mrs. Webbe Hinrichs, Little Rock; Leona, Mrs. C. B. Morey, Chula Vista, Calif.; Harriet, Mrs. John M. Kruse, Little Rock and Mildred, Mrs. Ben Christians of Sibley.

Also preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
