Obituary:
DENVER, COLORADO -- Pamela Ann Porter, 61, of Denver, died suddenly of a brain aneurism on Tuesday June 24, 2008 at her residence.

A Celebration of her Life gathering will be held on Monday, June 30th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Site 3 at Washington Park in Denver.

A Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Inwood, Iowa Community Center, with a committal service following in the Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Linus Foundation or charity of your choice. Condolences at www.pamporter.faithweb.com.

Pamela Ann Porter was born June 30, 1946 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Alvin Lee and Marylyn Jeanne (Miller) Porter. She lived in Inwood, Iowa and attended West Lyon Community Schools. Her family moved to Rock Valley, Iowa where she graduated from Rock Valley High School in 1964. Pam graduated from the University of Iowa with a BS Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1968. While in Iowa City, Pam was active in the Scottish Highlanders and the Alpha Phi Sorority.

She moved to Denver, Colorado following graduation and then lived in Geneva, Switzerland for a number of years before returning to Denver. Following her retirement in 1994, she continued to stay busy with catering, painting, and helping in her friend's antique store.

Pam enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, volunteering, doing crafts, and opening her home as a bed and breakfast to many family members and friends.

She is survived by her two brothers, Randy and wife Shirlee of Rock Valley, Iowa and their children, Darin, Tracy, and Josh, and Ric and wife Cynthia of Hawarden, Iowa and their children, Zac, Courtney, Kristian and Signe; six grand-nephews and grand-nieces; her uncle, Fred "Tip" Tyler and wife Ruth of Omaha, Nebraska; her aunts, Dorothy Moen of Inwood, Iowa, Alice Clark of Alma, Kansas, and Mavis Porter of Rock Rapids, Iowa; and many cousins.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
