Obituary:

Inwood, Iowa - Agnes Kahl, 91, of Inwood, died Sunday, November 8, 2009.

Celebration of Life Service will be 11 am Thursday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Inwood. Burial will be at Richland Cemetery, Inwood; with Rev. John Wolf will be officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday until 5 pm at Porter Funeral Home and 6-8 pm with family present at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Agnes was born September 28, 1918 on the homestead west of Inwood, daughter of Lars and Johanna (Knutson) Watland. Agnes married Vernon Kahl on December 1, 1946 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Together they lived on a farm near Inwood. Agnes and Vernon retired to Inwood in 1984. In retirement, Agnes and Vernon owned and operated Kahls' Kettle Korn enjoying the traveling and visiting people. She was a very active Bethlehem Lutheran Church member, and over 50 year member of the Kum-Two Pinochle Club. Agnes moved to the Fellowship Village September 11, 2009.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Vernon; five children: Karolyn (Harold) Anderson of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, David (Bonnie) Kahl of Sioux Falls, Don (Lois) Kahl of Inwood, Dr. Julie Kahl and husband Rev.Ed Anderson of Hayward, Wisconsin, Kristi Kahl of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marvyl Kahl of Inwood.

Agnes was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Ellen Watland, sister and brother-in-law, Etta and Carl Rorem, brother-in-laws, Harvey and Norval Kahl; sister-in-law, Lorena Kahl.
