Marvin Peter Warns, was born on January 12, 1929 in Wentworth, South Dakota, son of John and Ida (Rottluff) Warns. Marvin proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant for the United States Army during the Korean War.

After returning from the war, Marvin met the love of his life, Leona Huber. Marvin and Leona were united in marriage on December 20, 1959 in McLaughlin, South Dakota. Together they made their home in Aberdeen, South Dakota for nearly 50 years, where Marvin worked for Herges, Kirchgasler, Geisler & Associates Architectural firm as a building inspector. They moved to Inwood, Iowa in 2008.

Marvin enjoyed history, but his real passion for history was genealogy. Marvin was devoted to learning about all of his family history and even made a couple of family history books. Marvin also loved reading the newspapers and clipping out his favorite stories to pass on to others. He enjoyed helping people and his house was always open for company. He cherished times spent with his family most.
