Obituary:

Doon, Iowa - Wilmina Van Den Top, 76, of Doon, died Wednesday, August 08, 2007 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls.

A funeral service will be on Saturday at the Doon Protestant Reformed Church. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Doon. Reverend David Overway will officiate. Visitation will be Friday with the family present 6:30-8 pm at Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley. Memorials may be directed to Northwest Iowa Protestant Reformed Church.

Wilmina Buma was born July 23, 1931, to Fred and Marie (Otten) Buma. She attended Rock Valley Christian Grade School and graduated from Rock Valley High School in 1949. She worked at the Rock Valley Bee and Landhuis Furniture.

Wilmina was united in marriage to Peter Van Den Top on February 28, 1951, in Rock Valley.

Together they farmed near Rock Rapids, Iowa, until retiring to Doon in 1991. A member of the Protestant Reformed Church, Doon; she was a member of the Ladies Aid (Martha Society) and served as secretary for many years. Wilmina volunteered her services at the Protestant Reformed School. Wilmina enjoyed reading, listening to music, crocheting, word puzzles, traveling and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Wilmina died Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at Avera-McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was 76 years of age.

Wilmina was survived by her husband, Peter; daughter, Marlys (John) Huyser of Doon; sons, Eugene (Karen) Van Den Top of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Floyd (Mary) Van Den Top of Alvord, Iowa; 13 grandchildren: David (Rachel) Huyser, Joel (Trisha) Huyser, Rochelle (Ben) Bloemendaal, Austin, Kenneth, Richard, Kyle, Ellen, Lisa, Eric, Joni, Paige and Maria Van Den Top; 2 great-grandchildren: Elizabeth and Nicole Huyser; sisters, Tena (Lou) Niessink of Rock Rapids, Iowa, twin, Agnes Bonestroo of Hull, Iowa; sister-in-law, Berdena Buma of Rock Valley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harry Buma; brother-in-law, Alvin Bonestroo.
