Jodene Ann Hanson, (Hass), of Sioux City, SD, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at a local Sioux City Hospital.

Service was at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Rev. Del Olivier officiating.

Jodene was born September 29, 1940, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Elsie Hass. She grew up and attended Doon schools, and St. Joseph School of Nursing. She received her Bachlor's degree at Westmar College in LeMars, and her Masters' degree at USD in Vermillion, SD. She worked and taught in St. Joseph School of Nursing. On July 3, 1965, she married Chuck Hanson at Doon Congreational Church.

Survivors include her husband, Chuck; son, Jon of Sioux City; sister, Lila and Cornie Brower, Rock Rapids; brother, Buzz (Norman) and Marilyn Hass of Rock Rapids; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Elsie Hass.
