Tille Roskam, age 92 of Rock Rapids, IA died Friday, April 13, 2012 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 17th at First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids, IA,.
Burial will follow at the River View Cemetery in Rock Rapids.

Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids is in charge of services.

Tillie Edna Roskam was born October 8, 1919 at Estelline, South Dakota, the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Jonker) Schoeneman. At the age of five years she moved with her family to Ellsworth, MN. She started school there and later moved to various rural areas and attended country schools. In 1935 the family moved to Rock Rapids where she graduated from Wilson High School in Rock Rapids, IA.

Tillie was united in marriage to Dick Roskam on May 1, 1940 in Rock Rapids, IA. She was employed at Vander Wilt Hospital, Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, and Rock Rapids Health Care Centre. She helped her husband on many moving jobs and bookkeeping for Roskam Transportation.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church, active with Dorcas Circle and adult Sunday school. She was a member of "The Golden Age Club" and helped deliver "Meals on Wheels" for several years. She enjoyed general sewing, playing Dominos and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband and traveling with family. She will be remembered as a strong, loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Dean (Mary) Roskam of Red Wing, MN and Harvey Eugene (Nettie) Roskam of Rock Rapids, IA; seven grandchildren, Richard (Denise) Roskam of Rock Rapids, IA, Dawn (Mike) Johnson of Sioux Falls, SD, Lee (Annette) Roskam of Newark, DE, Janelle (Garrett) Jaenke of Iowa Falls, IA, Katy Roskam of Woodbury, MN, Molly (Monty) Nelson of Bend, OR and Noelle Roskam (fiancée, Sean Bibus) Great Falls, MT; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Mavis Herman of Luverne, MN; and many other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Roskam; parents, Jacob and Elizabeth Schoeneman; two brothers, Harvey and Dick Schoeneman; and one sister, Grace DeBeer.
