Mrs. H. L. Randolph Dead

Last Sunday morning on the Boomgaarden farm, west of town, the grim reaper visited the home of Harry Randolph and took from its midst, the wife and mother. The cause of the death was atrophy of the liver. Mrs. Randolph had been ailing for the past two years but at no time was she so that she could not be up and about doing her household duties, until about a month ago when she was confined to her bed for a short time. She recovered from this attack and was feeling much better and was in town last Friday and arrangements had been made to go to Rochester the next day. During the evening she was taken violently ill, and death came suddenly Sunday morning.

Vina Boomgaarden was born in Grundy county, Iowa, September 18, 1887, and came to Rock Rapids in 1890, where she has since made her home, either in town or on the farm west of town. In 1907 she was married to Harry L. Randolph, and to this union, two girls and one boy were born, the youngest being two years of age. She leaves besides her husband and the three children, her father, mother, two sisters and five brothers to mourn her untimely departure.

The deceased was a good mother and a king neighbor, she bore her suffering without complaint. Her chief aim in life was to do good to her fellow beings, and she has a host of close friends who will mourn her departure. The funeral services were held from the Congregational church yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock, after short services at the home, and interment was made in Riverview cemetery.

The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved father and children and to the sorrowing relatives.
