Mrs. A. Johnson Funeral Sunday

Aged Woman Resident of Rock Rapids 52 Years; Four Children Survive

Funeral service's for Mrs. Anna Johnson, 79, who died last Friday after a lingering illness, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Virtus Vogel. Rev. E. H. Mueller, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran church, was in charge of the services. Arrangements were in charge of the Lockwood funeral home. Interment was in Riverview cemetery.

Anna Christine Anderson-Johnson was born August 13, 1863, in Varmeland, Sweden, and at the time of her death was 79 years and 14 days old. She came to America in 1888 and first made her home on a farm near Hills.

Mrs. Johnson was married to Charles Johnson in 1890 and to this union four children were born. She was a resident of Rock Rapids 52 years.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by four children, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three sisters and other relatives and friends. The children are Oscar Johnson of Ames, Albert Johnson of Minneapolis, Mrs. William Petersen and Mrs. Virtus Vogel, both of Rock Rapids. The sisters who survive are Mrs. Matilda Erickson, Duluth, Minn.; Mrs. Louise Tewes, Auburn, Wash., and Mrs. Belle Beiring, Tacoma, Wash.
