Funeral services for Mrs Muriel Berkland, 72, Luverne, Minn., were held Thursday afternoon in Grace Lutheran church there. Burial was in Our Savior's Lutheran church cemetery in Inwood under the direction of Holm Funeral Home.

She died Monday, April 22, in a Sioux Falls, S.D., hospital.

Muriel Elizabeth Hotvet was born May 9, 1912, in Lyon county.

On June 2,1946, she married Gifford Berkland in Inwood. They farmed in that area for a number of years. He died January 15, 1970. She lived and worked in Sioux Falls until moving to Luverne in 1976.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Joan) Erickson and Jean Henrichs, both of Luverne; four granddaughters, a brother, Milton, Canton, S.D., and five sisters, Alice Coffield, Midland, Tex., Stella Berdahl, Sioux Falls, Mrs. Floyd (Naomi) Hohman, Larchwood, Mrs LeRoy (Ruth) Holland, Inwood, and Grace Geick, Luverne.
