Inwood, Iowa Obituary: Inwood, Iowa: Eldon Hanson, 88, of Inwood, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Fellowship Village in Inwood. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Inwood with Rev. Kelly Volk and Rev. John Wolf officiating. Burial will be at Richland Cemetery.

Eldon Hanson was born August 30, 1922 at Inwood, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Emma (Helder) Hanson. He graduated from the Inwood High School in 1941. Eldon married Bette Koch on July 25, 1949 at the United Methodist Church in Inwood. Together they farmed west of Inwood. He retired from dairy farming in 1984.

Eldon moved to Fellowship Village November 4, 2008. Eldon loved to golf and had the first hole-in-one at the Canton Golf Course. He also liked to bowl and attended the National Bowling Tournament. He thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought a smile to his face every time they visited.

Eldon is survived by his wife, Bette; two sons, Greg (Sandra) Hanson and Scott (Pam) Hanson all of Inwood; two daughters, Peggy Hansen (Mike Ohren) of Omaha, Nebraska and Melinda (Jerry) Schelling of Fremont, Nebraska; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Marlo (Jane) Hanson of Inwood; brother-in-law, Bob Koch of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; sisters-in-law, Arleene Pascoe of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Doris Koch of Larchwood, Iowa; and many nephews and nieces.

Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Cathy Hanson; brother and his wife, Harland and Angeline Hanson.
