Obituary: Rock Rapids, IA: Stanley Middle, 80, of Rock Rapids, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Sanford Rock Rapids Hospital. Family visitation will begin 1 pm and Funeral Service 2 pm Saturday at United Methodist Church at Rock Rapids. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley. Porter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Stanley was born June 14, 1931 near Rock Valley, Iowa, the son of Frank and Tena (Vogelzang) Middle and attended country school near Rock Valley. After serving in the U.S. Marines in Korea Stan began working for T.E. Ibberson Construction Company building concrete grain elevators and feed mills, traveling many miles thru out the United States.

Stanley married Barbara Ann Broesder on March 14, 1974 and together made their home in Rock Rapids. Stan was a member of the Sioux Falls, SD VFW Club.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Barbara of Rock Rapids; 2 sisters-in-law, Donna Middle of Nevada, IA, and Janice Broesder of Sheldon, IA; many nieces and nephews; and a special pet dog, Cali.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Tena; brother, Clarence Middle; 2 sisters, Clazena Middle and Frances Armstrong.
