Irvin Klaassen, 76, of Little Rock died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at his home.

Services were Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Little Rock, with interment in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Mr. Klaassen was born Feb. 3, 1927, near Little Rock, the son of Fred and Amy (Boom) Klaassen. He grew up and attended country schools in Osceola and Lyon counties, graduating from Little Rock High School in 1945.

On Feb. 4, 1949, he married Marlyce Nachtigal in George. They farmed near Little Rock until 1989 when they moved into Little Rock. He retired from farming in 1995. They couple spent the winter months in Mesa, Ariz.

At First Presbyterian Church, he served on Session. He was a member of Town and Country Club, Little Rock Development Club and Freedom Club.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mark of Huxley and Lonnie of Rock Rapids; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Ardella) Reitmeier of Brewster, Minn., and Mrs. Larry (Doreen) Brunning of Storm Lake; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Eleanor Wibben of George.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Virginia Rosenboom.
