Vera Pedersen, 91, of Canton, S.D., died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at Canton Good Samaritan Center.

Services were Friday at Canton United Methodist Church with interment in Richland Cemetery, Inwood.

Vera Baldwin was born June 23, 1912, at Canton, the daughter of Virgil and Dorthea (Schmidt) Baldwin. She attended school in Inwood and later worked as a waitress at an Inwood cafe.

In 1939, she married Sigvert Pedersen in Rock Rapids. They farmed near Inwood until 1951 when they moved to Canton.

Her husband died Oct. 8, 1955. She worked for Anderson Funeral Home several years and most recently provided child care for a couple.

Survivors include one son, Arnie of Baltic, S.D.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Kenneth of Inwood, and one sister, Beverly Brinkman of Inwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Lloyd, Lawrence and Keith, and three sisters, Helen Long, Melva Pedersen and Lois Lund.
