HOMFELD, MAYER, GUNDERMAN, RUST, SHOEMAKER

Mr. Bernard Homfeld, of Fulda Minn., a one-time resident of northwest Iowa, passed aay at his home on September 13, at the age of 97 years. He was born in Gremersum,, Eastfriessen Germany and came to this territory when a young man of 33 years. Before moving to Fulda, he resides in Little Rock for 16 years.

He was married to Grietje Mayer, who passed away in 1920. They were blessed with 7 children. Three of these children, Walter, Ernest and Margaret preceeded him in death.

Five children mourn his departure : George , Worthington , Minn; Mrs. Henrietta Gunderman, Fulda, Minn.; Mrs. Fanny Rust, Sibley, Iowa; Ben and Etta, who are still at home. Also 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Herman Shoemaker, of Hope, Kansas. A nephew, Sanke Neelan has made his home with the Homefeld family for many years.

Mr Homfeld was united with the First Baptist church of George, Iowa 53 years ago and was a faithful member, and supporter in prayer and gifts to his end. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, September 15 at the First Baptist church with Rev. Renz in charge. Interment was also at the First Baptist Cemetery.
