LEEMHUIS, RUST, FRERICHS

Word was received in George recently of the death of Robert E. Leemhuis, of Goodwin, S. Dak. Mr. Leemhuis passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clara Rust, on December 29th. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical United Brethren Church of that city. The Leemhuis family at one time lived southeast of George, near the Lyon County First Presbyterian Church, and will be remembered by many of the older people of this community.

Mr. Leemhuis was born February 2, 1861 in Germany to Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Leemhuis. He came to the United States in 1906 he moved to the farm near Castlewood, South Dakota where he lived until three years ago when he went to make his home with his daughter.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Reformed Church at Dempster, South Dakota. Preceding in death were his wife, in May, 1931; two sons and one daughter.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Claus Rust of Goodwin, and Mrs. John Frerichs, of Parkersburg, Ia., three sons, Enoch of Watertown, and Henry and Joseph, of Castlewood, and 15 grandchildren.
