WICHITA FALLS, TX—Arthur Ray "Charlie" Beek, 69, Wichita Falls, TX, formerly of George, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010. Services were Sunday, Dec. 12, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, TX, Burial with full military honors by the Sheppard Air Force Base Honor Guard was at Fort Sifi National Cemetery in Elgin, OK.

Arthur "Charlie" Beek, son of Raymond and Anna Mabel (Ackerman) Beek, was born July 25, 1941, in George, Iowa. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He received the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Longevity Service Award with four oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze service stars, Outstanding Unit Award with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Outstanding Award with valor device and one oak leaf cluster, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with palm.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Valuer of Wichita Falls, TX, and Debbie Ripperger
of Wichita Falls, TX; a son, Darrin Beek; five grandchildren; a special friend, Carol Sibole of Wichita falls, TX, and her daughters, Annetta Grinnell, Carol Ann Brummett and Laura Lee Shannon; two sisters, Ramona Grave of Rock Rapids and Joanne Wickenhagen of Hospers; and a brother, Robert Beek of California.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kim Wischmeyer; a brother, Joe Beek; and two sisters, Shirley Schaa and Myrna Beek.
