Rev. Henry Dallman.

Rev. Henry Dallman, formerly a resident of George, died at his home at Parkersburg, Ia., on Sunday, March 11, 1917, after an illness covering many years. The deceased was born in Ostfriesland, Germany, in November, 1857, and was a few months less than 60 years old, In 1865 he came with his parents to LeSeur, Minn., where they lived one year, from which, place they moved to Pekin, Ill., and from there to Grundy county, Ia., in 1871.

He became a minister of the gospel in the Baptist church in the early eighties, and held his first pastorate at Steamboat Rock, Ia. He became pastor of the First Baptist church north of George in 1895, and later organized the Second Baptist church in George, of which he was pastor for several years. After leaving George, he held the pastorate of several churches in South Dakota, and at the time of his demise , had been pastor for years at Parkersburg.

He had been a lifelong sufferer with headaches and various aliments, including gallstones and during the year prior to his demise had several strokes of paralysis. The remains arrived in George last Thursday morning, and funeral services were held in the afternoon from the Baptist church, Rev. Jordan of George, Hack of Aberdeen and Dobrowalni of Emery SD., officiating, after which the remains were laid to rest beside those of his parents in Evergreen Lawn cemetery.

A large number of friends and reltives were here from a distance to attend the funeral. Deceased leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife, son, Henry, of Sioux Falls, SD and two daughters, Anna and Sena of Parkersburg, besides several other relatives, among whom is W R. Dallman, of George.
