One of the saddest deaths in this community for some time occurred Monday afternoon, when Mrs. George Ripley Wheaton, wife of Merton J. Wheaton, passed away in childbirth. The little one came safely into the world. The funeral was held Thursday morning at the Lockwood & Pirwitz chapel.

Deceased was born May 15, 1885, near George. On June 14, 1911, she was united in marraige to Mr. Wheaton, of George. They resided in and near George about four years, when they moved to Ellsworth, Iowa, which was their home until last September when they came to Rock Rapids.

To this union were born three children, a son Robert, who died in infancy; Doris M., and Mary Grace, who with their father are left to mourn their mother. Besides these she left one sister, Mrs. Edgar Hammerle, of Fostoria, Ia., and four brothers, Grant E., of Fergus Falls, Minn.; Chas. R., of Hatfield, Minn.; Arthur W., of Rock Rapids, and Fred M., of George.

When a young woman she united with the M.E. church and kept her faith to the end.
