The G. A. R. lost another of its few surviving members in Lyon county when George Argubright passed away at Little Rock Sunday, January 11, 1924. The funeral was held the following Tuesday, and the business houses of Little Rock closed in tribute to his memory.

Mr. Argubright was born May 10, 1843, at Long Point, Livingston county, Illinois, and soon would have been 82 years of age. He enlisted as a private in Company C, 129th regiment, Illinois Infantry Volunteers, August 14, 1862, and was honorably disharged June 8, 1865

He was married to Sarah Ann Bailey, of Long Point, February 20, 1868. To this union were born four girls and three boys. Mr. Argubright moved from Illinois to Iowa March 1, 1888, and had been a resident of Little Rock since reitiring from the farm in the spring of 1912.

Those left to mourn his death are his wife; two sons- Charles Argubright of Kansas City, Mo., and Lewis Argubright of Little Rock, and one daughter, Mrs. Hattie Gilruth of Watertown, S. D. He had been a member of the Methodist church since childhood. He was loved by all who knew him.
