OLD SETTLER CALLED BY DEATH
F. M. Williams Died Sunday Evening at Larchwood After a Lingering Illness

F. M. Williams, for forty years a prominent citizen of Lyon county, died at his home at Larchwood Sunday evening after a lingering illness.Funeral services, conducted by Rev. F. E. Blair, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, from the Larchwood Community church. Interment was in the Larchwood cemetery.

Mr. Williams settled in Lyon county, near Granite, in the spring of 1888, coming here from Ida county.

After disposing of his farm in 1894, he went to Hornick, Woodbury county, where he engaged in the mercantile business for a few years. For ten years past he has been engaged in the mercantile business in Larchwood, his son, D. L. Williams, being associated with him.

F. M. Williams was born near Eyota, Minn., in 1853. He was married in 1888, to Nellie Roberts, at Ida Grove. Mrs. Williams survives him, as do three sons, D. L. Williams, of Larchwood; Dr. F. E. Williams, of Sioux Falls, and Raymond Williams, who is a student at the Iowa State University. There are many other relatives, among whom is Dr. N. E. Getman, a nephew.
