Funeral services were held at George, Iowa Wednesday at one o’clock at the Immanuel Lutheran church for Mrs. Sophia Albertina Eisentrager, 78, followed by services in Christ Lutheran church at Alvord, Iowa. The Rev. Stanley Roesler was officiating pastor of George, and Rev. A.E. Sommer was in charge of the services at Alvord.

Mrs. Eisentrager had been in poor health the past week and had suffered two heart attacks previous to the fatal attack on Sunday, July 22, 1951 at about 2:55 p.m., when death claimed her. She was a long-time resident of Lyon County and for the past eleven years had made her home at George, son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Sophia Albertina Kruck Eisentrager was born August 21, 1872, at Boone, Iowa, to John and Rosa Kruck. She moved to Sioux City, Iowa when a child and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was married to George Eisentrager on September 14, 1897 at Sioux City and lived most of her married life at Alvord, Iowa. The couple also lived in Pomeroy and LeMars, Iowa for a few years.

Three children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Eisentrager: Ernest, Eva and Arthur. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away on November 23, 1940, and her son, Arthur, who died on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1913.

Surviving to mourn her loss are one son, Ernest of Alvord, Iowa; and a daughter, Mrs. C.J. (Eva) Fitzgerald of George, Iowa; five grandchildren and a week old great-granddaughter. Besides these, she leaves one sister, Mrs. Molly Suter and a brother Charles Kruck both of Sioux City; also a number of nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends.

Mrs. Eisentrager was a member of Christ Lutheran church and Ladies Aid at Alvord, and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church and Ladies Missionary Society of the church in George.

Interment took place at the family lot in the Lutheran Cemetery at Alvord, Iowa.
