Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in Madison, South Dakota for John G. DeBoer, who passed away at the Madison Community Hospital, Madison, South Dakota on Wednesday, August 1, 1951, following a short illness.

Mr. DeBoer was born in Grundy Center, Iowa, on November 23, 1884 and lived there until 1894, when the family moved to Lyon County Iowa, settling 3 miles west of Little Rock, Iowa.

He was married to Lena Adams on February 15, 1911, in Buffalo Center, Iowa. They moved to a farm near Wentworth, South Dakota and lived there until 1914, when they moved to Madison, South Dakota. In 1920 the DeBoers moved to Madison and lived in town since that time.

Mr. DeBoer is survived by his wife, three sons: George of San Gabriel, California, Alvin of Madison, South Dakota, Leonard of Leola, South Dakota; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Gladys) Hess of Madison, South Dakota; three sisters, Mrs. William Reinicke of Madison, South Dakota, Mrs. Fred Schilling of Whittier, California, and Mrs. August Pfingsten of Rock Rapids, Iowa; and three grandchildren.

Burial was made in Graceland Cemetery at Madison, South Dakota.
