Funeral services were held on Monday, October 8, for Verland Marx of Rockwell City, Iowa, who passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 4, 1951.

The Marx family lived in George, Iowa a number of years when Mr. Marx was a manager of the creamery here. They moved to Rockwell City about 13 years ago, where he and his sons have been in the creamery business.

Verland was born on May 29, 1916. He had been in ill health for the past two years, suffering with a heart ailment, but it was not considered serious. He and his brother, Melvin, were on the cream route last Thursday, and as Verland was carrying a can of cream up the basement stairs at their first stop that morning, he suffered a severe heart attack and died before help could be summoned.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Marx, one brother, Melvin, and four sisters: Beatrice at home; Mrs. Melvin (Esther) Wilcox of Rockwell City, Iowa; Mrs. Bob (Gloria) Mongold of Norfolk, North Carolina; and Dorothy of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Monday at the Presbyterian church in Rockwell City, with Rev. William G. Grobe in charge and Rev. R.E. Niebruegge of Willow Lake, South Dakota, assisting. Interment was made in the cemetery at Adrian, Minnesota. Military services were held at the church and at the graveside. The deceased served with the Air Corps in World War II.
