Barbara Langenhorst, 81, of Larchwood died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Funeral mass was Saturday at The Church of St. Mary, Larchwood, with interment in Larchwood Cemetery.

Barbara Full was born June 12, 1920, near Taunton, Minn. While she was growing up, the family lived in Granville and Alton.

On Jan. 27, 1941, she married Harold "Demps" Langenhorst in Granville. They farmed in the Hospers area until moving to Larchwood in 1966. They owned Demps' and Barb's Cafe six years. She then worked for various cafe owners, West Lyon Community School and K-Products.

Her husband died April 17, 1994.

Survivors include three sons, Carrol of Newton, Kan., Dave of Larchwood and Alan of Aurora, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Linda) Kotz of Maxwell, Debbie Langenhorst of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Larry (Lori) Summers of Larchwood; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin of Alton, Mark of Minneota, Minn., and Arthur of Stewartstown, Penn., and two sisters, Inez Reichle of Alton and Janie Croatt of Sibley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, one in infancy and Shirley Nelson, and three brothers, Ferdinand, James and Ray.
