Dorothy Lund, 85, of Sioux Falls, S.D., died Sept. 27, 2001, at Avera McKennan Hospital.

Funeral mass was Oct. 1 at St. Magdalen's Catholic Church, Lennox, S.D., with interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Dorothy Weisensee was born Feb. 5, 1916, near Alvord, the daughter of George and Nellie (McCarty) Weisensee. She attended grade school in the Alvord area and graduated from Rock Rapids High School in 1933. She attended Cedar Falls Teachers College and taught in several rural schools. During World War II, she taught Morse Code at the Sioux Falls Army Air Base.

On Jan. 1, 1948, she married Obel Lund in Minneapolis, Minn. They farmed in the Lennox area and she owned and operated a hatchery business.

Her husband died March 21, 1989. She moved to Sioux Falls in May 1996.

Survivors include four daughters, Maureen Sorgdrager of Sioux Falls, Marleen Parker of Concordia, Kan., Margaret Montague of Winslow, Ark., and Mary Louise Morris of Casper, Wyo.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant brother and one granddaughter, Jessica Morris.
