Obituary:
Inwood, IA: Hattie Bakker, 97, of Inwood, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Fellowship Village. Funeral Service was Friday, July July 17 at Inwood Christian Reformed Church, Inwood. Burial was at Richland Cemetery, Inwood.

Hattie was born December 14, 1911 south of Rock Valley, daughter of Evert and Hattie (Drok) Blankespoor. Hattie attended country school for eight years and then worked at home and helped others doing housework. She married Dick Bakker on February 22, 1934 at the Blankespoor homestead. Together they farmed near Alvord, IA until moving to Inwood in 1972. Dick died on December 27, 1985. Hattie moved to Fellowship Village on April 29, 2005.

Surviving relatives include sister-in-law, Edith Blankespoor of Inwood; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; brothers Henry E. and John E. Blankespoor; sisters, Nellie Van Zanten and Coba Van Zanten.
