Obituary: Rock Valley, Iowa: Ronald Jansen, 64, of Rock Valley, died due to cancer on Monday, December 22, 2008 at Hegg Memorial Hospital. Funeral Service was Friday at First Reformed Church, Rock Valley with burial at Valley View Cemetery.

Ronald Jay Jansen was born August 31, 1944 at Rock Rapids, Iowa, son of Gilbert and Bertha (Duimstra) Jansen. He worked on a TeSlaa farm near Rock Rapids and later for Dual Manufacturing in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Ron married Lila Van Driel on September 12, 1970 at the wayside chapel north of Sioux Center, Iowa. Together they lived at Rock Valley where Ron worked for Kooima Manufacturing later named TCS as a machinist retiring after 38 years.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Lila; son, Robbie (Karen) Jansen of Rock Valley; 3 grandchildren, Travis, Cory, and Allison Jansen; twin brother, Donald (Lavonne) Jansen of Elgin, Illinois; and sister, Joyce (Clarence) Fluit of Luverne, Minnesota

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Bertha; and an infant sister.
