Paul Alan Lee was born March 18, 1941, on the family farm to Milo and Eunice (Schiager) Lee. He graduated from Inwood High School in 1959 and went on to earn an agricultural education degree from South Dakota State University. Paul was a member of the ROTC and was a U.S. Army Ranger Captain, serving in the Vietnam War. Paul married Joyce DesMarteau on June 6, 1969. To this union were born three children: Scott, Mark and Aimee. The children were raised on the farm north of Inwood, where Paul farmed with his father for many years and then his son Scott. In 1985, Paul and Joyce founded a new business, Super Soynuts. Paul and Joyce enjoyed taking their products to craft shows and fairs around the Midwest. Paul was a longtime supporter of 4-H and FFA programs and enjoyed showing cattle. He was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Inwood. He felt especially close to God while fishing, hunting or farming on a John Deere tractor. He enjoyed his work and providing for his family, and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; his mother, Eunice of Inwood; two sons, Scott (Jennifer) of Inwood, and Mark (Becky) of Mound, Minnesota; a daughter Aimee (Tye) Marquardt of Holdrege, Nebraska; a sister, Sandra (Bob) Aamlid of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a brother, Clark (Carol) of Hanover, Minnesota; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Milo; and an infant sister, Sharon.
