Frances Payton, 84, of Rock Rapids died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital.
Services were Friday at United Methodist Church, Rock Rapids, with interment in Riverview Cemetery.
Frances Ruehsen was born March 11, 1918, in Rock Rapids.
On July 15, 1937, she married Norman Payton in Lake Crystal, Minn. They lived in Michigan and Washington before moving to California. In 1973 they moved to Rock Rapids.
Her husband died Sept. 16, 1982.
Survivors include one son, Douglas of Haines, Fla.; one daughter, Sharon Stephens of Burbank, Calif.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and two sisters, Myra Hoekstra of Rock Rapids and Rosemary Fessler of Larrabee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Vern Rosenberg.
