Peter Snuttjer was born January 30, 1912 at Doon, Iowa, the son of John and Kate (Peters) Snuttjer. He attended country school.

He married Edna Dell Fiihr on December 14, 1935, the church parsonage. The farmed northwest of George, Iowa. Edna died in 1964. He was remarried to Elsie Noordhoek on July 25, 1975. They lived in George. He was a member of Hope Reformed Church of rural George.

Peter died Sunday, September 30, 2001, at the Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital in Rock Rapids, Iowa at the age of 89 years.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Elsie of George, Iowa; one daughter, Shirley and husband Marvin Timmer of George, Iowa; one son, Eugene and wife Wanda Snuttjer of Sioux City, Iowa; two step-sons; Leon Noordhoek of Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin and Edward Noordhoek of Las Vegas, Nevada; seven grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 27 step-great-grandchildren; and one sister Minnie Timmer of Worthington, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, seven brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services for Peter Snuttjer were held Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at Hope Reformed Church of rural George, Iowa with interment in the church cemetery the same day.
