Funeral services for John William Wagner, 69, of Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa, were held October 15, 1992, at Holy Name Catholic church, Rock Rapids, with interment in the church cemetery.

He died Tuesday, October 13, 1992 in Rock Rapids.

Mr. Wagner was born January 18, 1923 in Ashton, Iowa. He attended St. Joseph’s School in Ashton and graduated from Sibley, Iowa, High School in 1941. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II/

On July 19, 1945, he married Ileen Gacke in Sibley, Osceola county, Iowa. They lived in Sibley where he worked doing wheel alignment. In 1962, they moved to Rock Rapids, where he opened his own business, Wagner Alignment. For the past several years, he was a salesman for John Deere Implement.

He was a member of VFW and a life member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Russell (Margo) Pederson of Rock Rapids; three grandchildren; one brother, Walt of Spirit Lake, Iowa and two sisters, Evelyn Ament of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Ethel Miller of Sibley.
