Funeral services for Lorenz “Larry” Flower, 78, of Sioux City, Iowa, were held on June 13, 1992 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Sioux City, with interment in Calvary Cemetery.

He died June 11, 1992 at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Flower was born May 31, 1914 in Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1932. In 1942 he entered the Army Air Corps, stationed in Marana, Arizona, and taught instrument flying.

On October 12, 1942, he married Monica Van Lent in Marana.

He was discharged in December, 1945. He then worked as a link instructor at Spence Air Base, Moultrie, Georgia; for the department of the army at Fort Rucker, Alabama, and Corpus Christi Army Depot, Corpus Christi, Texas. He retired in June, 1980.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Barbara) Jansen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Mrs. Gary (Bonnie) Bently of Sioux City; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
