Funeral services for Murriel Hays, 99, of Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa were held in Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, Davison county, South Dakota with interment in Graceland Cemetery.

She died Tuesday, February 25, 1992 in Rock Rapids.

Murriel Biles was born June 22, 1892 in Muscatine, Muscatine county, Iowa. On December 24, 1912 she married Forrest Hays in Muscatine. They lived in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and then moved to Mitchell in 1922.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Order of Eastern Star and was a past matron.

She moved to Rock Rapids in 1982 and for the past five years has been a resident of Lyon Manor Care Center.

Survivors include one son, Wesley, of Brookings, South Dakota; one daughter, Mrs. Craig (Better) Vinson of Rock Rapids and five grandchildren.
