Funeral services for Mrs. Samuel (Velma) Wierenga, age 65 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, were held on August 19, 1981 at Miller Funeral Home there.

She died on Monday, August 17, 1981 at McKennan hospital in Sioux Falls.

Velma Horn was born on January 16, 1916 at Larchwood, Lyon Couunty, Iowa, and moved to Sioux Falls in 1943. She married Samuel Wierenga on June 3, 1946, at Pipestone, Minnesota. She worked at the Launderette in Sioux Falls until retirement in 1978.

Survivors include the widower; a son, Douglas of Sioux Falls; a daughter, Gail of Grand Prairie, Texas; two brothers, Virgil of George, Iowa, and Vernon of Montrose, South Dakota; and a sister, Mrs. Matilda Hecht of Rock Rapids.
