Funeal services for Mrs. Dena Van Wettering, 75, of Rock Rapids, Lyon County, Iowa, were held on Mondayat the First Reformed church. Burial was in the East Lawn cemetery at Steen, Minnesota, under the direction of Van Ginkel Funeral Home of Rock Rapids.

She died on Friday, February 6, at Lyon Manor Care Center in Rock Rapids.

Dena Vander Wolde was born February 4, 1906 in The Netherlands to Bartels and Rika Vande Putt Vander Wolde. She came to the United States in 1915.

In 1930 she married Christ Spykerboer. He died in 1931 and she and her daughter lived in the Doon and Steen areas before retiring to Steen in 1964. He died in 1967.

Survivers include one daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Christina) Weerheim, Rock Rapids; four
step-children, Mrs. Henry (Lucy) Van Wyhe and Otto Van Wettering, both of Steen; Richard Van Wettering, Enumclaw, Washington; and Harold Van Wettering, Hospers; 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Evert, Henry, Albert and Ed, and one sister, Mrs. Jessie Boeve.
