JOHNSON, CARL JOHAN
Carl J. Johnson was born Nov. 15, 1876 in Sweden and came to the United States in 1881 to the Canton, SD, vicinity. He was in partnership with his brother Joe, as a cattle feeder until 1930 when he moved to Larchwood to live with his brother and later nephew. Mr. Johnson moved to Sioux Falls in 1956. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Emma Long of Larchwood and Mrs. Frank Carlson of Hartford, SD. Pallbearers were: Calvin Johnson, John Long, Joe Long, Gaylord Berg, Clifford Berg, David Long. Rev. Paul Nelson officiated at funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Jan 23, 1961 at the Grandview Covenant Church, Larchwood, IA. Mrs. Edward Hildring served as organist and Mrs. Paul Nelson vocalist.
