JOHNSON, EARL 1912 - 1991
Rock Rapids, Iowa - Earl Johnson, 79, Rock Rapids, died Wednesday, July 31, in Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital, Rock Rapids.

Born March 21, 1912, in rural Boone, Iowa. He graduated from Inwood, Iowa, High School in 1930.

He married Elsie Kruse September 17, 1935, in Alvord, Iowa. They farmed in various Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa communities. They retired in 1973 to an acreage near Steen, Minnesota, where they raised vegetables and did rug weaving. In 1986 they moved to Rock Rapids.

Survivors include his wife; three sons; Donald, Adel, Iowa; James, Luverne, Minnesota; and Marlow, Rock Rapids; two daughters; Mrs. Orville (Darlene) Eeten, Rock Rapids; and Mrs. Jim (Roberta) McKibben, Lakewood, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; sex great-grandchildren; three brothers; Herbert, Media, PA; Horace, Doon; and Robert, Inwood; and one sister, Mildred Schipper, Delta, PA

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Rapids, with burial in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Alvord.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today in Roste Funeral Home, Rock Rapids, with family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
