Elderly Farm Woman Is Claimed by Death - Mrs. Signe Hildring of Near Larchwood Stricken at Home
Mrs. Signe Hildring, who resided on a farm west of Larchwood, died at her home Sunday noon at the age of 73 years. A native of Norway, she came to the United States in 1889, and settled in the Rowena vicinity.

In 1905, she moved to Larchwood to the present family home. Mrs. Hildring was a member of the Brandon Lutheran church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Axel Bonander, Larchwood; Mrs. Loren Johnson, Valley Springs, and Mrs. C. J. Fossum, Grantsburg, Wisconsin; two sons Emil of Brandon and Gilmer of Larchwood; three brothers, in Norway; a brother residing at Rochester, Minnesota, and 16 grandchildren.

Her husband died in 1918, and four daughters preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at Brandon Lutheran church, with the Rev. T.A. Johnson officiating, Burial will be in the Brandon Lutheran cemetery, under the direction of the Miller funeral home.

Prayer services will be held for Mrs. Signe Hildring, Larchwood (who died Sunday) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Axel Bonander, near Larchwood, at 12 noon Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock that afternoon at the Brandon Lutheran church, with the Rev. T. A. Johnson officiating Burial will be in the Brandon Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. S. Hildring Is Buried Wednesday; Died Sunday
Mrs. Signe Hildring passed away on Sunday, April 5, at the home of her son, Gilmer Hildring, Larchwood, at the age of 73 years. Mrs. Hildring was born in Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, on June 24, 1862.

On June 11, 1884 Signe Torstonson was married to Edward Hildring. They emigrated to this country in 1889, settling at Rowena, South Dakota, where they lived continuously until 1905 when they moved to a farm near Larchwood.

Remaining to mourn her death are three daughters, Mrs. Axel Bonander, Larchwood; Mrs. Loren Johnson, Valley Springs; Mrs. C. J. Fossum, Grantsburg, Wisconsin, two sons, Emil of Brandon, South Dakota, and Gilmer of Larchwood; three brothers living in Norway; one brother T.T. Lee, of Rochester, Minnesota, and 16 grandchildren. Her husband, Edvard Hildring, preceded her in death October, 1918.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 8, from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Axel Bonander, and from the Brandon Lutheran church with Rev. I.A. Johnson officiating. Pallbearers were John Long, Lawrence Swanson and four grandsons, Oscar, Edgar, Harold and Russell Bonander. Burial was made in Brandon Lutheran cemetery under the direction of the Miller Funeral home of Sioux Falls.

Mrs. Signe Hildring, nee Synne Tostenson, was born in Northberg, Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, June 24, 1862, emigrated to America in 1889 and settled with her husband near Rowena, South Dakota, where they lived until 1905, when they moved to a farm near Larchwood, Iowa. Mr. Hildring died in October, 1918. Mrs Hildring died the 5th of April 1936, at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 11 days. She is survived by five children; Olga (Mrs. Axel Bonander), of Larchwood, Iowa; Ebba (Mrs. Loren Johnson), of Valley Springs, South Dak.; Nell (Mrs. C.J. Fossum), of Grantsburg, Wisconsin; Emil, of Brandon, South Dak.; and Gilmer, of Larchwood, Iowa. Mrs. Hildring is also survived by 16 grandchildren, of whom all except three were at her deathbed when she passed away. Mrs. Hildring was of a quiet, loving disposition. She lived the Word of God; the Bible and Laache's Meditation book was her comfort to the very last. Mrs. Hildring was buried from Brandon Lutheran church April 8. A large congregation participating with Rev. T. A. Johnson officiated. Blessed be her memory! T.T. Lee (Her Brother)
