HILDRING, GILMER 1903 - 1993
Larchwood, Iowa - Gilmer Hildring, 89, died Thursday, January 7, 1993, at his home following a long illness.

Gilmer Hildring was born August 12, 1903 at Rowena, SD, the son of Edward and Signe (Torsten) Hildring. He grew up and attended school in rural Larchwood. On June 3, 1925, he was united in marriage to Betty Long at Granite, Iowa. Following their marriage they farmed in the Larchwood and Granite areas until retiring in 1967. Gilmer was a member of Central Baptist Church in Sioux Falls. One of his joys in his leisure time was visiting with friends and going for coffee. Last Thursday evening Gilmer died at his home at the age of eighty-nine.

Surviving are his wife, Betty of Larchwood; two daughters, Geraldine, Mrs. Maynard Berk of Sioux Falls; Corrine, Mrs. Otto Houg of Jasper, Minnesota and one son, Paul Hildring of Larchwood. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, Pauline Pinney; a son, Edward Hildring along with a brother and seven sisters.

Visitation will be from 11 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Roste Funeral Home in Larchwood, with the family being present from 7 to 9 p.m.

Following the funeral service at Central Baptist Church in Sioux Falls on January 11, 1993, there will be a lunch served in the Fellowship Room before going to the graveside service at Grandview Covenant Cemetery, Larchwood, Iowa
