Michele Mahrenfuss, 60, of Sheldon died due to cancer Nov. 20, 2002, at Northwest Iowa Health Centre, Sheldon.
Memorial services were Saturday at United Methodist Church, Sheldon, with interment in Hillside Cemetery, Doon.
Michele Nagel was born June 1, 1942, in Iowa City, the daughter of Gustav and Edith (Gerdes) Nagel. She grew up near Doon and graduated from high school there in 1959. She worked for Northwestern Bell in Sioux City.
On March 12, 1961, she married Richard Bahrenfuss in Doon. They lived in Sheldon. She worked 30 years as an operator and administrative clerk for the telephone company in several locations. She retired in 1993. She earned an associate's degree from Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon in 1995. She was working as a secretary for the Learning Center at Northwest Iowa Community College.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mark of Fort Dodge and Brett of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one daughter, Mrs. Don (Tamara) Golden of Valrico, Fla.; three grandsons; two brothers, LeRoy "Ted" of River Bank, Calif., and Edward of Sioux City, and five sisters, Eleanor Gibbon and Mrs. Ted (Evelyn) Kosom, both of Sioux city; Mrs. Joe (LuEtta) Stuczynski of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Willard (Arlene) Wissink of Rock Valley and Mrs. Ron (Virginia) Chenault of Indianola.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
