Glenda Moser, 60, of Alvord died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital, Rock Rapids, following a year-long battle with brain cancer.
Services were Monday at First Reformed Church, Rock Rapids, with interment in Hillside Cemetery, Lester.
Glenda Schafer was born July 15, 1942, at Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of Russell and Gertie (Elbers) Schafer. After her father was killed in World War II, her mother married Wally Feller who became her adoptive father. She grew up in Rock Rapids where she graduated from Central Lyon High School in 1960. She attended Morningside College, Sioux City, one year before beginning nurse training at Methodist Hospital, Sioux City.
On july 26, 1963, she married Howard Moser at Nashua. They farmed northeast of Alvord. She completed her registered nurse training at McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D., in 1965. She worked at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital 37 years, filling many positions including OB supervisor.
Her husband died Nov. 28, 1997.
She was active in the women's organizations at First Reformed Church.
Survivors include two sons, Joel of Alvord and Nate of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Stefani) Wigton of Sioux City; four grandchildren; her mother of Rock Rapids; her father of Sioux Falls and two sisters, Shauna Feller of Boise, Idaho, and Mrs. Gary (Kim Feller) Wirth of Egan, Minn.
