Margey Smith, 76, of Sergeant Bluff died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002.
Memorial services were Friday at Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church, Sergeant Bluff, with interment in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, George.
Margey Grotewold was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Larchwood, the daughter of Homer and Augusta Grotewold. She graduated from Larchwood Public School in 1944. In 1946, she moved with her parents to George.
On Oct. 12, 1946, she married Jack Smith. As a military wife, she traveled in Europe and the United States before moving to Sergeant Bluff in 1964. She was employed with the U.S. Government and later in the motel and gaming industries.
Her husband died in February 1977.
Survivors include three sons, Jack, Jeff and Scott; five grandchildren and one sister, Lenear Heyer.
