Doris Bonander, 85, of Larchwood died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Lyon Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Rapids.
Services were Tuesday at Grandview Covenant Church, Larchwood, with interment in the church cemetery.

Doris Young was born April 17, 1917, at Lamoni, the daughter of Sammuel and Jessie (Stahlberg) Young. After graduating from high school in Stewartville, Mo., she worked at HyVee Food Stores in Albia and Chariton.

On Feb. 19, 1949, she married Russell Bonander at Chariton. They lived in Des Moines until 1951, when they moved to Denver, Colo. In 1971 they moved to Larchwood. She became a resident of Lyon Manor Nov. 30, 2001.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Larry of Sparks, Md.; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Cecelia) Zangger of Cedar Rapids, and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Cecil, and one sister, Alberta.
