Elloise A. Klaassen, 79, formerly of Ellsworth, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at the Minnesota Veterans Nursing Home in Luverne. She was born December 6, 1922 in Viborg, SD to Reuben and Frances (Christensen) Larson. She attended school in Viborg until her senior year, and then graduated from Canton High School in 1940.

Elloise married Raymond C. Klaassen on October 16, 1947, at the Salem Reformed Church, in Little Rock, Iowa. After their marriage the couple made their home near Ellsworth. In 2001 they moved to the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne. She worked at Parview Manor Nursing Home as a dietitian for 17 years, until retiring in 1993.

She was a member of the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, Iowa.

Elloise is survived by her husband, Raymond; six children and their spouses: Dorothy and Roger Shepherd, Sioux Falls, SD, David and Margaret Klaassen, Marquette, Kansas, Daniel and Ann Klaassen, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Donald and Kathy Klaassen, Ellsworth, Jane and Frank Bernstein, Palo Alto, CA, and Joan Klaassen, Belmont, CA, and 21 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons, Benjamin Klaassen, son of Donald, and Nathaniel Klaassen, son of David.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 12, 2002 at Salem Reformed Church of Little Rock, Iowa. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Little Rock, Iowa. Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Home of Luverne, Minn.
