Ben Siebrands was born on September 6, 1913 at rural George, Iowa. He was the son of Dick and Trienjte (Goldhorn) Siebrands. He was a lifelong resident of the George area.

He married Irene Schrick on June 1, 1941 at George, Iowa. They farmed near George. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church.

He died on Monday, November 13, 1995 at the George Good Samaritan Center, at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 8 days.

He is survived by four children: Martys Ackerman and husband David of Bloomington, Minnesota; Dick Siebrands and wife Donna of Phoenix, Arizona; Paul Siebrands of George, Iowa; and Alda Siebrands of Mobile, Alabama; also left are four grandchildren: Jill Carlson, Todd Ackerman, Kimberly and Trena Siebrands; four great-grandchildren, Ryan and Andrew Lynas and Jacob and Aimee Carlson; two brothers, Lawrence and Richard Siebrands, both of George, and three sisters, Margaret and husband Henry Krull of Luvernce, Minnesota; Leota and husband Jack Gerken of George; and Lavonne and husband Alfred Klaassen of Ellsworth, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one sister.

Funeral services were held on November 16, 1995 at Central Baptist Church in George, Iowa. Pastor Hames Regehr officiated. Interment was in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George. Arrangements were by Bolin Funeral Service of George.
