The 1885 & 1895 state census' are not online. We have them in our Family History Room.

In the 1885 census - Liberty township family #74 lists:
Whitney, James 38 male widowed farming born- England
Whitney, David 36 male single farming born - England
Whitney, Eliza 32 female single born - England
Whitney, Alice 16 female born Lucas County
Spencer, Olie 16 female born Missouri

In the 1895 census lists:
Chariton Ward 2 in the family of A. C. Reibel #60 is:
Whitney, James age 71 male widowed born Wales

Jackson twp - Family #53
Wren, Elias age 51 married born England
Wren, Eliza age 42 born England
Wren, Robert age 19 born Penn.
Wren, Edith age 6 born Lucas Co.

Lida's husband:
Elias Wren was born in England on June 21, 1842. Came to Pennsylvania in 1848. In 1867 married Miss Mary A. Jones, 3 sons born, John, Robert, George. Moved to Albia in 1878 and to Lucas in 1879. Wife died. Married May 29, 1888 to Miss Eliza Whitney. Parents of 2 daus. one living. in 1897 moved to Chariton. Died April 7, 1900, buried in Chariton Cem. With Wife Elida (June 26, 1855 - Feb 9, 1916) and dau Ethel May d: Mar 9, 1891 age 6m 22d
