Hixson; Hollingshead; Bethel U. Methodist Cemetery

HIXSON, HOLLINGSHEAD

I live in Georgia but may be able to make a detour and go through Lucas County on Labor Day. If so, I would like to find a couple of sites:

Bethel U. Methodist Church cemetery- I've found an online map that seems to show it on County Highway 32 near 310th Avenue and 500th St. Is that accurate? I am assuming that Bethel Cemetery and Bethel U. Methodist Church cemetery are the same. Is that true?

I am descended from Cornelia King (born 9 July 1852 in Jackson Co. Iowa and died 24 May 1898 near Chariton in Lucas Co., Iowa) and Ezramiah "Ezar" Hixson (born 26 November 1846 and died 28 December 1887 at their farm near Russell, Iowa). Ezra was the son of Matthew B. & Rebecca Hixson.

Does anyone know the location of their farm near Russell? They had six children Clora Valentine Hixson (m. William Henry Conner), Rozella Hixson (m. John Thomas Hollingshead), Roldo Ensign (m. Julia Ann White), Ella Mae Hixson (m. Jeremiah Buzard and later 2nd m. to James Knapp), Fred Lee Hixson (never married), and Floyd Ezra Hixson (m. Edith B. Lawrence).

Ezra Hixson may have been a member of a firm that manufactured "Boss" pruning knives - the name of the firm was Hixson, Boggs, Plotts & Marshall. Does anyone know of the location of their firm?

I am descended from Rozella Hixson (b. 27 May 1872 near Russell and d. 23 October 1944 at Chariton) and John Thomas Hollingshead (b. 2 May 1857 near Russell and died 6 August 1950 at Chariton). He was son of James T. & Sarah (Clodfelter) Hollingshead.

My grandmother, Vesta Pearl Hollingshead Randel, was their daughter. She was born 29 November 1894 near Russell and died in the fall of 1988 in McCook, Nebraska.

If you know of the locations of any of these farms, I would appreciate knowing so that I can drive by them.

Thank you.
